winter wonderland?

How's everyone surviving the first Snowmageddon of 2013? We're trying hard to stay warm...

Right. Or maybe it actually hasn't snowed a drop (flake?) (YET!) here, but I didn't want to be the only person on the East Coast not posting Snow Day Pictures, so this is me trying to fit in. I chose a picture from our vacation in Mexico last summer because it just seemed like the right thing to do.

So maybe it hasn't snowed, but it IS actually cold for the first time in a few weeks, so we're celebrating by building a fire (and by "we," of course, I mean "Matt"), making some yummy Creamy Polenta with Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts (that's my contribution), and catching up on some Modern Family.

And I'm working on beating my personal best at my favorite sport: How Many Different Stripes Can You Wear At One Time?

This lovely ensemble is definitely a contender for the title. See the fire behind me? Yay for winter and fireplaces!! Lola likes the fire quite a lot, so we tried to take a mommy-daughter picture together.

Unfortunately, she was too busy having scary demon eyes. And also-- PHONE, ENOUGH WITH THE BLURRY PICTURES ALREADY! SHEESH!

Aight. Time for dinner. Stay cozy, friends!

  4. I feel like your Mexico photo is probably about as close as you're going to get to snow during this snowmageddon. Sorry.

  5. Haha, I also had (a far less excellent & not quite as delicious sounding) dinner in half work-wear and pajama bottoms.

  6. So I was TOTALLY blog lurking on one of those twinses blogs (the non-pregnant one. Hows that for impersonal!? I digress.) and am sad that you have no access to kolaches. Or legitimately good breakfast tacos for that matter. It's a travesty.

  10. I think we are getting all your snow. We got maybe two inches tonight -- but you know how I can't estimate worth beans.

Also, we just finished watching two episodes of Modern Family so your plans for tonight made me laugh out loud.

    The stripes are awesome!

  12. Just added the polenta dish to my menu this week! (The hubs will be gone so I can do a veg dish with brussel sprouts.) :)

I love comments almost as much as I love Mexican food. Seriously.
