9:30 a.m. and I'm getting word of the world's best cheese biscuits, amazing carrot cake, pumpkin dip, and an open invitation to get anything I wanted from Dunkin Donuts? YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT HELPING ME BECOME SKINNY. Don't you like how I really hemmed and hawed over that doughnut order, too? I seriously considered saying "nothing for me, thanks!", but then I remembered that I am not insane and I never say no when someone offers me a doughnut. So...yeah. I guess there's no danger of me starving to death around here.
There's also no danger of me becoming disorganized-- yesterday our long-awaited, much-anticipated, amazing, beautiful, fully-customized, fan-freaking-tastic Plum Paper Designs 2014-2015 (18-month) planners arrived!!
There was no shortage of squealing and freaking out as we opened our packages, trust me. I am SUPER excited about my new planner and can't wait to get started entering in all of my events and plans for next year! I think it's safe to say that the people at my work fall into two categories: those that are SUPER PASSIONATE about planners (and therefore were highly excited, impressed, and jealous of ours) and those who stare at you like you grew a third head. And then jot down whatever date they need to remember on a post-it note, which they will probably lose in 5 minutes. I've never been prouder to be a member of the first group! And it's pretty great being surrounded by like-minded folks. Especially when there's doughnuts. And pumpkin dip... And cheese biscuits... And cake...
Haha. Never pass up an opportunity for Dunkin Donuts. Never. :)
ReplyDeleteMy co-worker never makes/brings me ANYTHING delicious to eat! I totally get the shaft over here.
ReplyDeleteI fall into the "Crazy about awesome planners" category and therefor want a full post about how awesome they are and what they look like inside. Did you know a good planner practically keeps you organized without you having to do anything?!?!
ReplyDeleteOne of the perks of working from home is I can keep all of those office and lunch temptations away. However, when my kid's Halloween buckets are sitting there calling my name it's hard to resist just one (or ten).
ReplyDeleteLOVE a good and PRETTY planner!
ReplyDeleteI do not even have the excuse of co-workers sabotaging my diet right now because yesterday I made a pan of rice Krispie treats for the dinner party we had last night and then proceed to eat 1/4 of the pan this morning for breakfast... rationalizing that it was made from "breakfast cereal"...
Would love the details on that pumpkin dip! And how long did your planner take to come in? I want to order one, but don't know which month to start on!
ReplyDeleteBut if you ran yesterday morning, that sort of counterbalances the apple fritter, right? And I second Natasha's note above about a post on the planner. I usually buy mine on clearance at Target in January and am curious what the hooplah of an ordered planner is really all about.
ReplyDelete@Lulu (I don't have your email address!!)- they were SUPER fast! Like, the etsy store is open part-time right now because they're expecting a baby, so they accept a certain # of orders each day and then 'close' the shop. So it took me awhile to even get our orders in (3). We expected it to take a long time, but we placed the orders on Thurs 9/19 and they were in our hands on Tues 9/24!! Insanely fast for 3 completely different, customized planners! Plus they were easy to communicate with while they were making them (they had questions about a few things). Highly recommend!!
ReplyDeleteyour work sounds like such a fun place to be! those planners are adorable, i'm definitely a little jealous because I'm also a member of the first group. after spending the first 10 years of my life on the east coast where dunkin donuts exist and then moving to the west coast where we have ZERO i'm glad that you didn't pass up on the offer. i get it once a year && that is definitely not enough. eat a donut for me! :]
ReplyDeleteBahhh! This makes me laugh! You spoke too soon. But hey, the pumpkin dip only had a few tablespoons of powdered sugar in it... sounds like she's looking out for you. And I feel confident that pumpkin is on the bird diet, so, WINNING! The doughnut and carrot cake I simply can't help you with.
ReplyDeleteWhile I do diet when my clothes start getting too tight, I say eat what you enjoy and be happy rather than be miserable watching everyone else enjoy all the good stuff!! I can't help it I love food!
ReplyDeleteDesperately looking for a new planner...checking out Plum Paper today! Thanks for the heads up. Damn those office friends for sabotaging your effort...hope the sweets tasted yummy!
ReplyDeleteI swear that the best way to get fat is to work in Corporate America. The temptations I've faced (and given into) this week include pumpkin muffins, chocolate covered Oreos, cupcakes, cheesecake, and miscellaneous candy. It's wonderful and terrible all at the same time!
ReplyDeleteOr work in youth ministry??
DeleteLoL. Those opportunities JUST don't pop up often enough to say no. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteOffice break rooms are the WORST!!! Always left over something!!! RESIST! haha. You can do it!!! Cute new planner, love it!
ReplyDeletePretty calendars!
ReplyDeleteSweets are my #1 downfall. I can't say no to donuts either!
Haha I think you made the right choice to say yes to those invitations!!! I mean now that you're running, it evens out right?! Someone had left over panera bagels in the break room for free and I just couldn't stop my hand from grabbing one!

ReplyDelete"I am SUPER excited about my new planner..." bahaha, you are such a nerd. <3
Who doesn't love a new planner!?? I have to order a new one since mine runs out in December. You should do a review of your new planner. I have an Erin Condren one and I love it, but I'm always interested in new options!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm pumpkin dip! I might have to make me some of that!
ReplyDeletethose planners are totally adorable! closeup?
ReplyDeleteI want some pumpkin dip!
ReplyDeleteActually the year that we were required to sign up for a week to bring in treats to our staff room I gained around 15 pounds. I am really glad that we don't do that anymore AND that my classroom isn't even in the building so when there is treats, I can't get to them.
Yummers! Here's what I understand: You worked your butt off running and being all healthy and what not and now you have been rewarded for your hard work with tasty treats. It all cancels out! And I have serious planner envy over here.
