the secondary dream

So I know that yesterday I expressed a new life dream of happening upon enough crazy redneck stuff to make a blog series based on it. And that is still my dream (I don’t give up on dreams after 24 hours. It takes a lot longer than that to deter me from something I want; see also “unable to get pregnant for 3.6 years”). But overnight, (perhaps in an ACTUAL dream? Who knows!) I have come up with a secondary dream based on the first. Complicated, I know. Hang with me, though. (It rhymed! I am on a ROLL today!)

WHAT IF one day, whilst perusing Pinterest (as I am known to do for oh…100 hours a day), I happened upon a pin of my very own Here’s Your Sign pictures? Only instead of having a caption like “hahahaha,” which would be the appropriate response to those pictures, the captions were something like “great way to upcycle old toilets!” or “must do this next time we move the trampoline!” I’m sorry, but I would probably have to die of happiness and uncontrollable laughter. Because don’t you ever see stuff like that on Pinterest? People have repinned something totally ridiculous but with a totally straight-faced, “I actually think this is a great idea!!” caption? And you’re like…for real? You really think that’s a good idea? I guess that’s the premise behind Pinterest, You are Drunk and so perfectly illustrated by this pin, which Natasha brought to my attention a few weeks ago (thoughtfully thinking of Matt and his phobia):

Just because you can make snacks that look like bandaids doesn’t mean you should.

Just because you can put flowers in an old toilet doesn’t mean you should. Same idea, see?

Anyway.  So. The new dream: See my crazy redneck pictures pinned as an Actual Good Idea. First person to spot one (or do it yourself, if you have no Pinterest ego to maintain) and send me the link wins an amazing prize (to be determined) (“amazing” is a very subjective word, also).

  1. Ew those band-aids are gross. Who would eat that?

  2. I'm not sure if I'm honoured to be mentioned on your blog or embarrassed to be mentioned on your blog in relation to gross Band-Aid cookies :) And I'm tempted to join Pinterest and pin your "moving trampoline post" just to win something "amazing!"

  3. I love this new dream! I'm hoping it comes true for the sake of all your loyal readers.

In other news, last night I dreamed I found out I was pregnant, walked to the kitchen table where you were sitting, slapped the test down on the table, and stared at you in awkward silence. I even felt guilty in the dream, and when I woke up I was incredibly relieved to not actually be pregnant so that the horror of it could also be fake.

  4. I just want to know why this person made these Band-Aid snacks... what in the world was the theme?! Guess I need to click on the link and go investigate for myself...

  5. UPDATE: I investigated and I am even more disgusted now!!! Did you look at the link? More snack ideas like "Toe Jam" and "Scabs & Pus" and "Pint of Blood". I need to go vomit now.

  6. Oh, those Band-Aid snacks are awful! Gross! I bet I could find plenty of boys (and girls, too) at school who would think they were totally rad, though! Ish!

I'll be watching Pinterest for your crazy redneck pictures!

  7. I must admit I join Matt in his band-aid fear. Band-aids are DISGUSTING and make me want to gag. Just looking at the picture also makes me want to gag. And you should check out the blog Pintester. I found her today. Bad language, but hilarious.
